Mark Essien is the founder and CEO of Hotels.ng – one of the biggest online hotel booking agencies in sub-Saharan Africa. He is also the founder of HNG Internship, which is a training program for African coders. HNG has trained more than 100,000 digital artisans since 2016.
Mark is an occasional investor, having invested, among others, in Lenco, a YC funded app for business banking. He also invested in Zuri, which does training for Africans, and Popular Energy, which sells power devices.
He is from Ikot Ekpene, in Akwa Ibom State. He schooled at Federal Govt College Ikot Ekpene, followed by a Bachelors and Masters in Robotics in Berlin, Germany.
